Advice

Dear Grade 8 self,

I have some advice that you can use, that will help you in the future. First off you (when i say you I mean I) should pay more attention in class and listen more to the teacher instead of listening to your friends talk about random things. Also to do all of your homework on time instead of waiting until last minute to do it and hand it in.
Also instead of sitting on your butt and watching t.v or playing video games you should get outside and be more active instead of being lazy. SO while your doing that you should get involved in sports and join a sports team so you can stay healthy and stay fit. Lastly do not borrow money because I know that you that you are not good at paying the person back whom you borrowed from. Which later will become a problem. So that's all of the advice that I have for you and know you have to figure thing out for yourself.

P.S: When you are in grade 12 and are writing this in your English class come up with different advice to give to your self.

From your grade 12 self.

The Road

Pg.253( When there stuff goes missing)
The Son:
Me and my papa where walking back to our camp, when all of the sudden my papa started to yell and told me to hurry up and get going. When I had looked up I had say that everything was gone, and we rushed towards the road to see if we could see the person who had taken our things. When we got to the road we saw no one except for a trail of sand heading down the road. We cleaned off our feet and started to follow the trail of sand, we had walked for maybe 5 to 10 min down the road until we saw a man bent over our cart going along the road. At that point my papa started to yell at the man and told him to stop and back away from the cart. After when the man had saw us he did what my papa told him to do, then my papa told the man to takeoff his close and put in the cart. Then we had left the man on the side of the road naked.

The Father:
As my son and I where walking back to our camp site, I noticed that there where boot-prints in the sand and all of our things where missing. i looked up and down the beach to see if any one on was there but I saw no one. My son and I rushed to the road to see if we could find any tracks and t see what direction the thief had gone. We walked along the road and found a sand track heading south. We followed it along the road and found the man that took all of our stuff. I pulled the pistol out  and told the man to back away. The man looked around as if there was some there to help him, the I told him again to back away and put his weapon on the cart and the did as i said. We slowly walked up to him and grabbed the cart. Then I told him to take all of his clothing off and put it in the cart. After he had did that my son and i had left and went on are way.

Inquiry Question

Question: how has balance of power affected history?
The novel: The Road, by Cormac McCarthy

So the balancing of power through out history of mankind has affected how the world is shaped today. However the balance of power system in put in to affect when two or more countries are in competition- for example the cold war where the U.S and Russia where competing of who had the biggest and strongest army, also who had the most nuclear weapons. This system also gets put into affect when certain areas are put under control of a country.

About Me

The goals that I would like to accomplish in English 12 is to have a larger vocabulary,  be able to write well written essays and become a better reader.  Here some general information about me: I like to play video games,  watch movies/t.v, go camping and go hiking.
